Description
A delicious and tangy Dill Pickle Grilled Cheese sandwich combining creamy melted cheese with the crisp, tart flavor of dill pickles, perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
Scale
Bread
- 2 slices of bread (preferably sourdough or your favorite type)
Butter & Condiments
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise (optional, for extra creaminess)
Cheese & Pickles
- 2 slices of cheese (cheddar, American, or your favorite cheese)
- 4-6 dill pickle slices (or more, to taste)
Instructions
- Prepare the Bread: Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. If using mayonnaise, spread it on the opposite side of the bread for added creaminess and flavor contrast.
- Assemble the Sandwich: Place one slice of cheese on the unbuttered side of one piece of bread. Layer the dill pickle slices evenly on top, then add the second slice of cheese to help hold the filling together.
- Grill the Sandwich: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwich buttered side down on the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes until the bread is golden brown and crispy. Carefully flip the sandwich and grill the other side for another 3-4 minutes, allowing the cheese to melt fully and the second side to also become golden.
- Serve and Enjoy: Remove the sandwich from the skillet, slice it in half if desired, and serve immediately while warm and gooey.
Notes
- You can use any cheese that melts well such as Monterey Jack, mozzarella, or gouda for different flavor profiles.
- Adjust the number of dill pickle slices based on your preferred level of tanginess and crunch.
- Mayonnaise is optional but adds a nice creamy contrast to the tangy pickles.
- Use sourdough bread for a slightly tangy, robust flavor, or substitute with whole wheat or white bread as preferred.
