Ingredients
Scale
Dough
- 1 package Refrigerated Pizza Dough (can also use homemade)
Filling
- 8 whole Eggs (can swap with egg whites for lighter option)
- 1 cup Diced Ham (alternatively turkey or chicken for leaner choice)
- 1 cup Shredded Allegro Cheese (or cheddar, mozzarella, or any melting cheese)
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Toppings
- Bagel Seasoning (poppy seeds, sesame seeds, garlic powder mix), to taste
Additional
- 1 tablespoon Honey (optional for boiling water for added rise and flavor)
Instructions
- Prepare Dough: Thaw refrigerated pizza dough and divide into 8 equal pieces. Roll each into a ball, cover with kitchen towel, and let rise for 20 minutes to develop a fluffy texture.
- Scramble Eggs: Whisk eggs with a pinch of salt and pepper. Gently scramble in a pan over medium heat until fluffy. Set aside to cool slightly.
- Boil Water: Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add honey for extra rise and flavor.
- Fill Dough: Flatten each dough ball into a circle. Spoon a portion of scrambled eggs, diced ham, and shredded cheese into the center. Carefully fold and seal the edges to enclose the filling completely.
- Boil Bagel Bombs: Drop each filled bagel bomb into boiling water for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Remove using a slotted spoon and allow them to drain.
- Bake: Place bagel bombs on a lined baking sheet. Sprinkle bagel seasoning on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool and Store: Let the bagel bombs cool completely. Wrap individually in plastic wrap or place in a freezer-safe bag for freezing.
Notes
- Use egg whites instead of whole eggs for a lighter, lower-fat option.
- You can substitute diced turkey or chicken for ham to make it leaner.
- Make your own bagel seasoning by mixing poppy seeds, sesame seeds, and garlic powder if unavailable pre-made.
- Boiling the dough before baking gives the bagel bomb a chewy, authentic bagel crust.
- Wrap cooled bagel bombs tightly for freezer storage and reheat them by baking or microwaving.
