Ingredients
Scale
Chicken & Spice Mix
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper (adjust for spice preference)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Wrap Filling
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 large flour tortillas
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 medium avocado, sliced
- Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare chicken: In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Rub this spice mixture evenly over the chicken breasts to coat them thoroughly.
- Cook chicken: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the skillet and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink inside. Remove the chicken and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing into strips.
- Assemble wraps: Lay out the flour tortillas flat on a clean surface. Spread sour cream evenly over each tortilla. Place sliced avocado in the center, then add the sliced chicken strips and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Wrap: Fold the sides of each tortilla over the filling and then roll tightly from the bottom up to enclose the ingredients.
- Slice and serve: Cut each wrap in half and serve warm. Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired for added flavor.
Notes
- Adjust cayenne pepper quantity according to your preferred spice level.
- Allowing the chicken to rest after cooking keeps it juicy and tender.
- Use whole wheat or gluten-free tortillas for a healthier or dietary alternative.
- For extra flavor, add a squeeze of lime juice over the avocado slices before assembly.
