Description

These Spicy Cheesy Garlic Chicken & Avocado Wraps are a flavorful and satisfying meal perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. Juicy, seasoned chicken breasts are pan-cooked to perfection, then wrapped with creamy avocado, sharp cheddar cheese, and zesty sour cream inside warm flour tortillas. The combination of spices adds a pleasant kick, while fresh cilantro garnish enhances the fresh flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken & Spice Mix

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (adjust for spice preference)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Wrap Filling

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 large flour tortillas
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 medium avocado, sliced
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare chicken: In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Rub this spice mixture evenly over the chicken breasts to coat them thoroughly.
  2. Cook chicken: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the skillet and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink inside. Remove the chicken and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing into strips.
  3. Assemble wraps: Lay out the flour tortillas flat on a clean surface. Spread sour cream evenly over each tortilla. Place sliced avocado in the center, then add the sliced chicken strips and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  4. Wrap: Fold the sides of each tortilla over the filling and then roll tightly from the bottom up to enclose the ingredients.
  5. Slice and serve: Cut each wrap in half and serve warm. Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired for added flavor.

Notes

  • Adjust cayenne pepper quantity according to your preferred spice level.
  • Allowing the chicken to rest after cooking keeps it juicy and tender.
  • Use whole wheat or gluten-free tortillas for a healthier or dietary alternative.
  • For extra flavor, add a squeeze of lime juice over the avocado slices before assembly.
