Ingredients
Scale
Meatballs
- 2 lb. frozen meatballs (about 1/2-oz each)
Sauce
- 1½ cups brown sugar
- ½ cup hot sauce
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 2 Tbsp water (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the sauce: In a Dutch oven or large saucepan, combine brown sugar, hot sauce, water (if using), and butter over medium heat. Stir frequently and cook until the brown sugar has fully dissolved and the sauce is smooth and well combined.
- Cook the meatballs: Add the frozen meatballs directly into the saucepan with the sauce. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring often to coat the meatballs evenly and prevent sticking. Ensure the meatballs are heated through and the sauce thickens slightly before serving.
Notes
- If the sauce is too thick, add a little more water to reach desired consistency.
- Stir frequently while cooking to prevent the sauce from burning and to evenly coat the meatballs.
- For a milder flavor, reduce the amount of hot sauce.
- Serve with toothpicks or over rice or noodles for a complete meal.
