Ingredients
Scale
Base
- 2 Flour tortillas
- Olive oil, for brushing
Sauce
- 1/4 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
Cheese
- 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Toppings (Optional)
- Pepperoni slices or cooked sausage
- Sliced mushrooms
- Diced bell peppers
- Sliced onions
- Black olives
- Sliced tomatoes
- Fresh basil leaves
- Grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This high heat will help create a crispy, golden crust on the tortilla pizza.
- Prep Your Tortilla: Place one flour tortilla on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Lightly brush the top of the tortilla with olive oil to help it crisp up nicely during baking.
- Spread the Sauce: Evenly spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over the tortilla, leaving a small border around the edges to ensure a crispy crust.
- Add Cheese & Toppings: Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Add your favorite toppings such as pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, olives, tomatoes, fresh basil, and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese as desired.
- Bake the Pizza: Bake the tortilla pizza in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes. Bake until the edges of the tortilla turn golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is fully melted and bubbly. Watch carefully to avoid burning.
- Slice & Serve: Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a minute or two. Slice into wedges, optionally drizzle with extra olive oil or sprinkle red pepper flakes for added flavor, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use thin flour tortillas for the best crispiness.
- Adjust toppings to your preference – less is more to keep the tortilla crisp.
- Keep an eye on the pizza while baking to prevent burning.
- You can prepare multiple pizzas at once by arranging tortillas on the baking sheet, but ensure they don’t overlap.
- For extra flavor, brush the tortilla edges with garlic butter before baking.
- This recipe is best served fresh for optimal crispness.
